What Does It Take To Clean Up The Mess?
by Dick Hunt, January 11th, 2013.

AND IT IS A MESS! None of us can walk away from it. We may not agree with how it is caused but if we only remain silent and make no effort to solve the problems of the world, we are complicit in the tragic circumstances. Today, talks have finally begun to solve the demands of the Native Peoples of Canada. It will require the very best efforts of both sides to make the changes that will effect us all. And it will be a lengthy procedure.

The immorality of the millions of people who decide they alone will determine what are their rights is just what suits their desires and is the way to live, no matter how it affects others, cause havoc and untold suffering to the people around them, robbing others of freedom to choose to live a wholesome life. The ghastly practice of Rape which destroys so many lives around the world and is not diminishing is truly frightening, being used to satisfy the political savagery of many nations in Africa and the lust of out of control males even here in our midst.

The breakdown of Marital Commitment, the ever rising Divorce rate, the rising practice of Common Law arrangements, the practice of same sex relationships being made ‘lawful’ by various levels of Government and systems of Justice is tearing Family life to shreds for many people.

A recent news item from Saudi Arabia tells of a 15 year old girl forced to marry a 90 year old man who paid a dowry of some $60,000 to her parents, forcing her to escape from the awful life as a tool of an old man. We could go on and on with the shattering accounts of the breakdown of ethical and moral and spiritual lapses and disappearance of decency.

All this is nothing new. Away back in History, as recorded in the Old Testament Book called 2 Chronicles 7:14, we may read the following; “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land”. That is none other than the plan and recipe’ to rescue the planet and the people on it from the destruction which is snapping at our heels. And we may all have our place in the healing of the Nations.

Remaining silent and trying to remain neutral is not a feasible way to go. That is only a way of saying, I take no part or blame in the matter.

We are all called to God, the Creator and Sustainer of this world to be his people, through the One who was born as a Baby in Bethlehem nearly 2,000 years ago. Jesus Christ was born and came to make the Father, God, known to the world. To quote C.S. Lewis, “He came into the world to take His own medicine.” The Bible is God’s Book and is trusted by all Christians as our Way of life, the Truth to set us free and the Life for us to live. We live in an era when huge numbers of people , chiefly in the developed nations have decided Jesus doesn’t matter any more and can safely and without problems arising, be denied a place in their lives. How very wrong it is to take that road! It is the road to everlasting savagery and is the cause of the vast troubles that are afflicting the nations of the world.

God has given the world warnings through the Prophets and those who have, down the years are still in many areas of the Planet giving up their lives to prove to the nations their beliefs are the very essence of the rich life reserved for us in heaven when we live for God in the Way, the Truth and the Life, made known to us in Christ. (John 14:6)
